(Hell, it's on YouTube, which means I have absolutely no excuse not to.)

I am definitely reviewing the remake, which is up there with the all-time best remakes (along with The Thing, The Fly, Magnificent Seven, Fistful of Dollars/Last Man Standing, Insomnia, Cape Fear, Vanilla Sky, etc--actually, that makes it sound like there are a lot of great remakes).

And yes: fuck Invaders From Mars, for it is stupid. When some wag insists that it's some great movie, or even indicative of mid-century SF, I kind of want to strangle 'em.Hunter Allenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10925220178171355473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4633480297352890314.post-70934307909547372982016-07-14T08:29:53.854-11:002016-07-14T08:29:53.854-11:00I LOVE The Blob! No offense. I've liked most of the ones you've showed me, too. Except Invaders from Mars. F**k Invaders from Mars.

I also really adore the remake, which is an effects blowout like no other. I assume you know that The Blob got a sequel (1972's Beware! The Blob), but have you had the chance to see it? I'd advise against it, but it's definitely a fascinatingly weird little movie.Brennanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15399713449347559869noreply@blogger.com
